Black Sata

Replaced the power supply unit on my desktop. Power comes on but I get a boot failure message?
The new psu has a black SATA plug, my old one did not have it. What could it be? What should I do
I believe the main reason for this is that the hard disk drive (hdd) is not connected properly. Make sure the hard drive is connected directly to the psu (perhaps u could try the sata plug) and also connected to the motherboard.
