Is there a way to use a torx wrench to replace the sata plug on a Seagate hard drive with a ribbon cable plug?
You know the thing on the back of a Seagate hard drive that screws in with torx screws and has the SATA plug on it? Is there a thing with a ribbon cable plug on it that I can torx-screw onto my hard drive instead? I tried a SATA-to-PATA adapter and it didn’t work, so I want to know if I can make the connection happen more directly.
You will most likely just damage the drive once you open it and do the hardware modification. Just buy an IDE HDD. Convert that SATA HDD to an external drive by putting it in an enclosure with USB connector.
