Trading The Snow For Sunny Weather

The Winter weather is still hitting the UK hard, and I’m making sure that my holiday next year is as far as possible from snowy conditions. With the usual drab winter suddenly turning vicious, I don’t want to be taking my chances and spending my vacation camped out at an airport as some may have had to do.

Orlando holidays seem a great choice as there’s lots of possible places to go and see. For the kids, the obvious choice is Disney World although there is plenty on offer at the other centres such as Epcot, to keep adults thrilled and entertained during your visit. It’s not just Disney either, there are other adventure roller coaster parks in the area too which are based around other themes, Universal Studios and SeaWorld also have their adventure park sections so you can combine an interest in films or marine life with some white-knuckle rides too.

The recent headlines about problems at airports may make you wonder about flights to Orlando, but there are usually no such problems in the spring and summer months, and even during the problems with the snow, many of the major transatlantic companies were still running flights. As soon as you are airborne, you will always have a destination option of US airports so there will always be somewhere to land and get your holiday started, no matter what the weather. An added advantage is that the Florida weather can usually be relied upon to give a balmy 20 degrees during December, so you can forget about a chilly winter and enjoy some nice Floridian sunshine instead.

If you’d like to take a break from the normal package options, you can strike out on your own with a fly drive holiday that lets you travel to wherever you want. Another good option for a truly memorable holiday is getting a cruise from Miami after you have finished sightseeing in Orlando, turning fly drives into luxury holidays Caribbean style, with a range of package cruise or holiday options available to let you enjoy one or more of the fabulous Caribbean islands. Having Florida as your base gives you the perfect starting and end-point to a truly memorable and sun-drenched holiday on the other side of the Atlantic, where the snow and the cold will be a distant memory.
