External hard drive problems! HELP?

I just got a Iomega Ego external hard drive. I hook it up to my computer and i go to download steam and minecraft and it says “you do not have permission, would you like to save to desktop instead?” and i am logged on as an administrator! I don’t know how to save files on my external hard drive HELP! ME! PLEASE!
OS is windows XP. BUT i have to download the file sfrom vista cuz my XP computer has 10 MB of hard disk space.. thats right i said MB not GB, MB. So i have it hooked up to vista now, but i will hook it up to XP later

What’s your OS?

I got a good laugh out of that one!

This is a great program to have (even if it does not work for you). It’s called Grant Admnistrative Full Control. Download it here:

http://logicmatters.org/registry-tricks/205-in-one-click-grant-full-control-permissions-and-ownership-admin-rights-in-windows-7-or-vista?catid=11%3Aregistry-tricks

Read the page first!!!

It’s real easy to use.

What I suggest is to locate the installation of your Ego EHD (probably in the Programs (x86) folder), right click on the Ego folder and select Grant admin full control.

When it finishes cycling, try downloading again. This time save it to your desktop. Right click on the downloaded file, select Grant again and copy to your Ego EHD.

See if this solves the problem. If it does not email me ’cause I’m not done yet!

Good Luck
