What is the difference between MGS portable ops and portable ops plus?

Because I bought Portable ops plus because my friend was selling it and he said he’d sell it to me for $5 and there seems to be almost no point besides going on random missions that have no importance. So Is it supposed to be like an expansion and I need the original portable ops in order to use it fully or whats the deal. Because I want Portable ops but if its like plus the I won’t waste my money.

Portable Ops plus was an expansion to Portable Ops. It is mainly an online game. The original Portable Ops has a single player story mode, which is what you want.
