My Hitachi Simple Tough isn’t being read?

After about four months, my Hitachi SimpleTough 320gig external drive is no longer being found by either of my laptops. It powers up, the light comes on, but it is not read. Tried all usb ports, no difference. Any one else experience this? Anyone have a fix? Or do I lose the data and have to go digging for the receipt?
Thanks Nikola. I have tried it on two machines, will take it to the office tomorrow, but don’t have much hope. I’ve found quite a number of other posts from people who’ve had this drive fail on them. I’ll be calling Hitachi and expect the outcome to be a refund.

Did you try taking it to a friend or someone else with a PC and plugging it there?

Also, if he is really dead, you can still get files out of it, there are companies which do that, but they will charge you money.
