Identical Seagate

Is there a benefit using a RAID config with 2 identical HDD rather than 2 with same specs but dif manufacturer?

I have two Seagate HDD set up in RAID. Dell sent one replacement Toshiba HDD because they thought I had a problem with it. The problem turned out to not be HDD related, so I can either send them back the new Toshiba or send back a used Seagate.
The Toshiba has .5ms and 1ms faster read and write seek times than my Seagates(I know when using it in RAID, it will be limited to the Seagates seek times).

I’m wondering if I should keep the new Toshiba and use it in RAID, or keep the used identical Seagate.

i dont think you are going to notice any speed difference. 1 ms is 1/1000 of second.

i would get the seagate back personally as seagate is a more reliable brand in my experience.
