Admin. password for Dell Latitude CPi D300xt?
I recently bought a Dell Latitude CPi D300xt laptop running Windows NT (I think) on eBay, only to find that it is protected by a password. As soon as it boots, I am prompted for the admin. password (via a black and white screen), which I obviously don’t have. I have contacted the seller, but he dosent know it. Please Help!!
It asks for the password immediately after it boots; Windows dosent load.
I tried talking to a Dell Rep., but they were of little help since it’s not registered in my name. I tried to get info from original owner to transfer ownership, but got no reply.
Is it a BIOS password or a Windows password it’s looking for? Removing the CMOS battery on the motherboard for 30 seconds would reset the BIOS and remove the password. Go to http://support.dell.com and click the Owner’s Manual link. Enter the Service Tag # and look at the online documentation for your laptop. See where the CMOS battery is located inside your pc. Dell alos has a way to reset that password, but you’d have to call the support number and talk to a tech.
