struggling to decide whether to get a better HDD for my gaming computer?
I got a really cheap hp awhile ago but I’ve almost got everything i need for a new computer that I’m building custom but i totally forgot about a new HDD. im struggling on cash and and not sure if i should just reuse the HDD from the hp or just save and buy a new one asap.
this is what is on its sticker.

hard drives are the only thing i haven’t researched about so i know nothing about them other than what they do. apparently 80GB is not a lot so idk.
btw i have downloaded 7 games from steam so far and planning on getting more at some point so i supposed ill need lots of space but i dont know how much i really need.
looked a little more info.
apparently has 7200rpm and 8mb cache.. was looking at
Samsung F3 Spinpoint 1TB HDD. 7200rpm and 32mb cache but i dont even wanna pay 60 bucks really…
Yeah that’s a pretty outdated and slow hdd. If you want a very fast hdd, then definitely go for the Samsung Spinpoint F4 320GB. Currently one of the fastest 7200rpm drives, and for not alot. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152244 And grab a SATA cable for it, because it doesn’t include one.
EDIT: No, Look again, the Samsung Spinpoint F4 320GB has 16MB cache, and there’s almost NO performance difference between 32MB and 16MB cache. It is currently faster than the WD black drives and Seagate 7200.12 drives with even 32MB cache. I suggest you go with that since you’re not even willing to fork out a measly $60 for one. It’s only $43,
