Beyond Macronutrients And The Importance Of Vitamin Supplements
Many individuals are aware of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates, the three main macronutrients that are focused on within many diets. Indeed, some highly regarded eating programs, such as the Isometric Diet®, are designed to deliver an optimal balance of those three macronutrients. Many diets, nevertheless, ignore the significance of vitamin supplements to a healthy and well-balanced diet. It is neglect that, paradoxically, derives from scientific misunderstanding. The scientific community has held strong to the idea that vitamin supplements were extremely unhealthy and harmful to add to one’s diet. There are still considerations, however, in regards to the effectiveness and beneficial qualities of vitamin supplements. Specifically, the nutrition community has raised questions with respect to the potential toxicity of supplements that comprise “fat-soluble” vitamins. Fat-soluble vitamins aren’t easily and swiftly eliminated by the body. They are usually instead stored within the body’s tissues and organs. Over time, there can be a build-up of fat-soluble vitamins [iii], which may result in adverse health results such as nausea, diarrhea, unhealthy weight loss, bone density loss, and digestive tract problems [iv]. Fortunately, to avoid this potential harm, there are vitamin and nutritional supplement merchandise available on the market that provide water-soluble vitamins. These are in a position to enter and exit the body more smoothly than fat-soluble vitamins and are eventually ejected out by the kidneys. As such, there’s little to no threat of toxic build up [v]. These water-soluble vitamins and nutritional supplements have the capability of being made using all-natural sources. This is great because synthetic vitamins are only able to replicate a small amount of the beneficial nutrients while these more natural supplements will have the ability to give you all the benefits possible from these sources. Synthetics just don’t lower it [vi]. The fact that the scientific community has finally begun to understand the positive effects of vitamin supplements is quite a breakthrough and helps the average consumer better understand that they have access to water-soluble and all-natural products. Some diets irresponsibly advise dieters to take diuretic drugs that create weight loss by way of water loss. As a consequence to this short-term strategy, dieters typically become dangerously deficient in water-soluble vitamins such as vitamin C, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, Biotin, and Folic Acid. However, some well-designed nutritional supplements provide anywhere from 50% to 100% of those essential vitamins. As such, dieters who are currently subscribing to an unhealthy water-loss diet can responsibly transition to these products, and replenish their depleted water-soluble vitamin stock. Dieters who have been able to avoid these types of unhealthy diets can also include these supplements into their diets to help them enhance their health. Indeed, the scientific community, for all of the contributions it has made to diet and nutrition, has been unusually slow in accepting the fact that vitamin supplements are an essential part of wholesome eating. Water soluble and all-natural products are extremely safe and efficient compared to synthetic or fat-soluble supplements. It may have taken a decade or so too late to reach this “vitamin awareness”, but now that it’s here, it is reason for both dieters and non-dieters to celebrate a future of healthier and smarter eating.
