Rocketfish Hard

My motherboard green light turns on but nothing else. What did I do wrong?
This is my first time putting in a power supply because everyone said it was easy. I added a Rocketfish 500 watt power supply to my hp pavillion P6000 model number p6674y. Everything was going well (some pieces were hard to connect because of the psu size). I finally hook everything up and plug it in and nothing happens except the motherboard green light coming on. The fan won’t start and the computer won’t boot up. I got frustrated and put the original 250 watt power supply back in and the computer fired right up with no problems.
Is the Rocketfish 500w power supply not compatible with my PC? I’m fairly sure I connected everything I’m supposed to although like I said, it is my first time doing this. I connected cables to the motherboard, power supply, dvd and fan…am I missing another hook-up somewhere? I need a good techs help!
Did you connect the 4 pin CPU plug?
