How to install a Third Hard disk (SATA)?

I already have 2 hard disks installed (primary master and slave) a CD/DVD drive (secondary master) and a DVD/RW (secondary slave) already installed. The two primary hard disks are both P-ATA (on IDE), but the third hard drive I want installed is a SATA drive. My motherboard has both IDE and SATA channels. My BIOS does not detect the SATA drive. It was already installed before, but not by me (I took it to a shop). I had to reformat my C: because of a virus and now I can’t detect my SATA drive. How can I get it back (I want to do this myself and coz the shop charges too much)? Thanks.

hello dear as you may know that the connector on the motherboard for PATA and SATA are different … if your system motherboard have already boths of them then just plug the sata harrdisk and check it in the bios.. otherwise there are connectors for harddisk (SATA). which can be plugged on the PATA connector of the board…. but it is for thoes who have no sata connector on their board.. as you have…
upgrade you bios from the menufacture website… check your bios version start button Programs …Accessories…System tools…System Information……. there is information about bios version just check it install it it will work…
