Is it possible to transfer info from a 32bit IDE HDD 350GB Win XP to a new 32bit SATA HDD 750GB + Wind Vista?

Building a new system – would like to transfer all info from old hdd to new hdd. What would be the best way to go? I would like the new OS to be Vista because of DirectX10

That is pretty simple. The operating system will be fine. Just plug the old drive in as a second drive (set jumper to slave). Install Vista and copy the files over. It shouldn’t be too much of a hassle at all. The files have no preference in drive size or bits.

If you want your programs transferred along with files and everything then you are SOL. Vista is different than XP. You could by a migration assistant but it is better to reinstall everything so the OS runs smoothly.
