Seagate Barracuda 80 GB 7200.7 w/ firmware version 3.16 chip board burnt out does it have to be same firmware?
I have a Seagate Barracuda 80 GB 7200.7 with firmware version 3.16. The chipboard burnt out on it and can’t find a replacement board anywhere with the same firmware version? Wondering if I anyone knows of a place to find old hard drives or can I install with more updated firmware if I can find a similar hard drive? Or any other ideas on getting the information off the hard drive without any company doing it for 1000′s? Thanks
It should work as long as the hardware revision is the same.
