Steady Orange Power Light on 500 Series Gateway Desktop?
Power light is a steady orange light. It has done this before, but we just unhooked the power cord and plugged it back in and it worked. Now however when we try to boot it up, the orange light comes on, but there is no sound at all, and the light just stays on. Have even tried unplugging it for long lengths of time.
Bad power supply, bad motherboard, a short. All the light tells you is that you have to dig out a meter and start tracing where the problem is. It’s not something like “steady light = component X”.
