Single Refurb

What size iPod should I get (and what about refurbs?)?
Kind of two questions here.
1) Should I get the 32 gb or 64 gb touch (current generation)? My total iTunes library size is 25gb but I doubt I’d put every single thing on the ipod as I have audiobooks and bootleg live albums, etc. So let’s say I’d use less than/equal to about 18 gb for music.
Then I’d add a big bunch of apps and games. I mean, some simple small ones (such as, like, “Ruler) but a few bigger ones (like, say, Sims 3).
pretty much I’m looking for the best buy possible and also affording me room. I think I can get a 32 and have a comfortable amount of room to add more music or apps but I’m not as familiar with newer ipods so I don’t know how much room a bunch of apps would take up. suggestions?
2) also, would going for a refurb of either of the 32/64gb current gen touch models be a good idea? from the apple store itself, not somewhere else. I haven’t heard complaints but I wanted feedback.

A ton of apps don’t take up much space at all. I have a 16GB iPhone and the pages of apps take only a fraction of a GB
