Do I really need a SSD (solid state drive)?

whats it for. Cause im getting a western digital 1tb hard drive but i found out theres two kinds HDD and SSD. Do I need both? or can i do fine with the HDD. i have 4gb ram and a phenom II X6 cpu anda radeon hd 5770 card.

SSD drives are low capacity and expensive, however they provide a massive disk access speed increase. You never *need* one, but they are nice to have.
