Can I watch HD video from a external USB drive?

I want to purchase a LaCie Starck Desktop 1TB Hard Drive. Can I watch HD TV shows with that on a Power Mac G5? Will the transfer speed be fast enough with USB, or do I have to buy one with Firewire 800? It is HD from the iTunes store.

you just need a high speed USB port.
all new generation pc s have it. so don’t worry. enjoy ur hd tv shows.
