Have installed shield devices on phone lines-but we have static on the phone lines…stops when DSL discon.WHY

you should buy DSL Filters, and use one for each phone you have, usually they have one input to connect to the telephone line, and 2 outputs, one is marked phone, the other is marked dsl or PC, you connect your phone set to the output marked Phone, and the dsl noise is filtered, without these filters you will keep having these statics.
