Is this a good Quad Core System?
Now, I am going to buy a customised quad core processor and was wondering whether you think these components are decent enough. I won’t be playing video games, apart from Football Manager 2008, and will be mainly using it as a media center computer.
INTEL CORE 2 QUAD Q6600 1066FSB – 8 MB
ASUS SKT-775 P5B SE S/L 1333FSB (O.C)
2GB DDR2 PC-6400 800 MHZ (2 x 1 GB 800)
ASUS 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 8500GT SILENT MAGIC PCI-E
600W PSU
250 GB SATA HDD UDMA 300 7200 8MB
SAMSUNG 16x DVD-ROM BLACK (IDE)
Whilst not requiring a top graphics card, Football Manager 2008 is a game which can hugely benefit from multiple cores, which is the reason for choosing the Q6600.
If you are going to just use it as a media center(mostly) then why not save 100 dollars and just get a dual core.
